Stampin Up Fall Frenzy Blog Hop with Amy's Inkin' Krew

Hi Stampers! Today I am excited to participate in the blog hop with Amy's Inkin' Krew!! The theme is Fall Frenzy.

It's kind of hard to be thinking about fall when its so hot here in South Carolina! As I was browsing my newest products I ordered from the brand new Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog, I happened upon the blue and green pattern of the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper and it inspired my color theme for this card!  I love blues and greens together! These are prevelant colors here in the coastal community where I live.  We have lush green trees and grass from the frequent rains we get here and blue skies and waters.  Also, we tend to decorate here with coastal colors so its common to see blue and green pumpkins here!  Here is my card:

One of the neat things about Stampin Up is they coordinate everything for us. On the package of the DSP, it lists all the colors used in the paper to make it easy to identify the coordinating colors. So right away, I knew I would be using Pretty Peacock, Mint Macaroon and Balmy Blue!

I used Pretty Peacock cardstock for my card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2", scored and folded in half). I ran a layer of Whisper White cardstock (4x 5 1/4") with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder and adhered that with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I used a strip of the blue and green plaid paper (1 3/4" by 5 1/4") to build my collection of leaves and pumpkins.  I used Seaside Spray cardstock and ink for the largest leaf, Mint Macaroon cardstock and ink for the pumpkin, and Pretty Peacock cardstock for the two unstamped leaves.  All of these were die cut with the dies from Gathered Leaves Dies.

The sentiment "Season of Thanks" is from the Gather Together stamp set and was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then die cut with the second smallest rectangle die of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  For a little extra fanciness, I punched out the green sprigs with the Sprig punch using the new Green Foil Sheets. I assembled these together using a mixture of Stampin' Dimensionals and liquid glue for a layered, three dimensional effect.  You can see this a little better with this close up picture:

For the inside of the card, I used a layer of Whisper White cardstock (4 x 5 1/4") and stamped the corners with the large leaf in Seaside Spray ink and the pumpkin in Mint Macaroon ink and adhered it in with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I've mentioned it before in my previous blog posts, but I love the flexibility that the liquid glue offers. It allows me to wiggle the paper just a little bit to make sure its straight and lined up properly before I press it down for a good seal.  Here is a picture of the inside:

You can watch my video for more detail on how I assembled this card together. It's a quick and to the point video with subtitles so you can play it anytime without disturbing those around you.  I have made a few videos using this format and it seems to be working out well so I hope to making several more soon using this same style.  If the video doesnt appear below you can also access the video by clicking here

Making this card was really fun and even though I used non-traditional colors for a fall theme, it has put me in the mood for fall to arrive!!  All products used in this card are at the bottom of this post.  Be sure to scroll down to check out everyone else's Fall Frenzy design!!  Click the "Next" button or follow the list.
