Stampin Up Guilded Autumn Thank You Card

Hi Stampers!  I am so excited to have received my first order from Stampin Up's August to December 2020 Mini Catalog (formerly known as the Holiday Catalog).  If you have not seen this catalog yet be sure to check the link to it on my home page sidebar!  I will be sharing quite a few new products from this catalog with you all in the next few weeks.

The first thing that caught my eye when looking through the Catalog was the Guilded Autumn Designer Series Paper which is part of the Guilded Autumn Suite. The colors in this paper really drew me to it; I love the earthy colors of Mint Macaroon, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla together combined with copper and gold foil accents.  I knew my first project would be using this paper!  Here is the card I made:

I knew I wanted to showcase the DSP for this card. I had a hard time choosing which patterns to use so I ended just picking my two favorite patterns.  Here's a close up of the different patterns in the Guilded Autumn DSP:

I used Early Espresso cardstock for the base card, then adhered the multi-striped pattern in the center of the base card, leaving a peek of the Early Espresso at the top and the bottom. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue for adhering as it allows me to shifit the paper slightly before pressing it down. This helps me make sure I line the paper up straight with the card base.  Then I used the largest die from the Stitched Nest Labels Dies to cut out the Mint Macaroon paper with the foil accent leaves.  Since I wanted to prop this layer up with dimensionals, I also ran this die with some Whisper White Cardstock to adhere the two layers together to make it thicker to prop it up.  Then I used one of the dies from Stitched So Sweetly Dies to cut out a layer for the sentiment with Very Vanilla cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment "Thank You" from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set with Early Espresso ink. To add a little interest to my card, instead of centering the Stitched Nest layer, I decided to off set it to the left by cutting the point off one end.  This layer was propped with dimensionals.  The sentiment layer was adhered directly on top.  You can see the layers from this view:

GuildedAutumn2BloxieGirlStampinUpNext I added 3 different sizes of the gold Gilded Gems on the sentiment layer for a little extra sparkle.  For the inside of the card, I cut a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock and added a small strip of the Mint Macaroon/Foil Leaves paper at the bottom.  Then I stamped the small leaf in Crumb Cake and colored it in with Mint Macaroon.  The image was punch out with the corresponding shape in the Autumn Punch Pack. I adhered that just for a little interest, then the whole layer was glued in with the liquid glue (again so I can make sure the paper was straight before pressing down to seal).   Here's how the inside looks:

I would love to decorate my whole house in these colors for the fall! However, it's so much work to put up new decorations and then take them all down, so I usually just put up a few decorations and then save my creative energy to make lots of cards! At least with the cards, I can share my creations with others! My family and friends will be getting lots of cards with this paper this fall!!!
